Celebrating You……

 Someone will always be prettier.

Someone will always be smarter.

Someone’s house will be bigger.

Someone will drive a better car.

Someone’s children will do better in school.

And Someone’s husband will fix more things around the house.

So let it go, and love you and your circumstances.

Think about it.

The prettiest woman in the world can have hell in her heart.

And the most highly favored Woman on your job may be unable to have children.

And the richest woman you know, who’s got the car, the house, the clothes….might be lonely.
And the word says if “I have not Love, I am nothing.”

So, again, love you.
Love who you are.
Look in the mirror in the morning and smile and say
“I am too blessed to be stressed and too anointed to be disappointed!”
“Winners make things happen. Losers let things happen.”
Be Blessed ladies and pass this on to encourage another woman.
“To the world you might be one person, but to one person you just might be the world”

Joke of the Day….

A guy was telling his friend that he and his wife had a serious argument the night before.“But it ended,” he said, “when she came crawling to me on her hands and knees.”“What did she say?” asked the friend. The husband replied, “She said, ‘Come out from under that bed, you coward!’”

“I respect women and I’m the freak?”

American Idol has not been my favorite show ever, but I am extra disappointed in the judging this year. Bruce Dickson, a very talented vocalist from Bastrop, Texas was given the boot by the judges after professing that he has never kissed a girl and that he is saving that first kiss for his wedding day. While it may sound too good to be true, there still are guys out there who are saving themselves for marriage. Yes, Hollywood, it can be done.Bruce’s audition turned into quite the hot topic after the judges remarks aired last week as well as some parting comments by Ryan Seacrest who spouted off “Maybe next year he’ll come back less a boy and more a man.” Anyone with half a brain can see that Bruce is more of a man than Ryan could ever hope to be. Bruce’s response to Ryan’s comments were nothing short of brilliant, “A real man would rather wait than just do whatever with whoever.”

Check out Bruce’s interview and audition…

[youtube=<object width=”425″ height=”373″><param name=”movie” value=”http://www.youtube.com/v/_T9EywLx2AE&color1=0x006699&color2=0x54abd6&border=1″></param><param name=”wmode” value=”transparent”></param><embed src=”http://www.youtube.com/v/_T9EywLx2AE&color1=0x006699&color2=0x54abd6&border=1” type=”application/x-shockwave-flash” wmode=”transparent” width=”425″ height=”373″></embed></object>]

As you can tell, Bruce can sing and sing well! He was as good or better than anyone else that made it to the Hollywood round, so there was no legitimate reason for the judges to dismiss him. Simon’s comments were that he had a “nice voice for a room, but not for radio or tv”. What the heck? That makes no sense in today’s high-definition, digital EQ world.  And when Bruce asked for some parting advice, Randy says to him “Go kiss some girls.”  Now how will that help his music career?  Give me break!

Bruce would make a fabulous American Idol role model and I can’t believe that AI has overlooked this gem of an artist because he actually has values and standards. American Idol – you just made a big mistake. Huge.

Bruce’s simple response to the situation says it best. “I respect women and don’t think of them as a sexual object, and I’m the freak?”

What is a Feminist?

This quote today got me thinking… and honestly, I kinda agree with her.

“I myself have never been able to find out precisely what feminism is; I only know that people call me a feminist whenever I express sentiments that differentiate me from a doormat or a prostitute.” ~ Dame Rebecca West

So what do you think? How would you describe a feminist?

What every girl should NOT do before 18

Ok, so everybody knows that I’m not the best when it comes to follow rules :) , since I got tagged by Batoul, Wonders, and Oriental Arabesque, I decided to answer it … my way ;)

What you should NOT really do

1.Don’t get married:

The worst thing to do is to get married before the age of 18; girls are not mature (enough) to get married, and YOU CAN WAIT!!

2.Don’t dye your hair:

You’ll grow old and have A LOT of gray hair, you’ll get to a point when you wish you can take a break of it, do not damage you hair with these chemicals

3.Don’t put any makeup on:

There is nothing better than the natural beauty for little girls, you don’t really needs it in you teens, you’re suppose to have a great fresh skin, enjoy that.

4.Don’t fall in love:

Don’t break your heart too soon; you are better off without boys when you are a teen ;)

5.Do not quit school:

Don’t you ever, under ant circumstances quit school, finish Tawjeehi, and pick a major you like, and put a plan to yourself, DO NOT QUIT!!!

6.Do not get fat:

If you get fat in your early teens, you will NEVER be able to lose it, and even if you will, you will struggle keeping it down, make sure to watch your weight, have healthy habits when it comes to eating, it will affect you later in your life.

I’m not gonna tag anyone, as I noticed, most of the people are either tagged, or answered it already, but if you read this and feel like answering it, go ahead :)

ANYWHERE BUT HERE!

anywhere.gif

I remember when I was a little girl living in Kuwait how much I hated it there, I used to look forward for the summer so we can go to Jordan and spend the most beautiful 2 months of the whole year, and how much we hated the idea to go back to Kuwait again.

Few years later (1990 to be specific) we had to move like all the Jordanian/Palestinians had to move to Jordan. Everybody was sad except for us (the kids), we were so happy just because our dream came true, and we are actually staying in the country we love.

That didn’t last for long, I remember how much I cried on my first day of school, I HATED it, I started to cry for going back, it took me more than 8 years to actually like Jordan.

People around me knew how much I hated it, as a little kid, I used to be asked the same stupid question wherever I go “meen a7laaaaaaaaa, el Kuwait wella el ordon???” , my answer was ALWAYS “el Kuwait, and I get the same reply as well “ma enti konti tebki bedek teb2i feeha, halla2 batalat 7elweh??”.

As years passed by I started to get used to my life in Jordan, in fact I consider myself “terbayet” Jordan, but I always used to say it where ever I go ” I will leave this country one day, I’ll do my best to just leave, I’m sure my life in the states will be much better”

And I did, and I wish I didn’t, living in the states made me realize AGAIN how much I’m attached to Jordan, and how much I wish I can go back, but you know something.. I know for sure that the minute I go back, I’ll wish to leave again.

My question is, when are we gonna be happy with what we have? When are we gonna be happy wherever we go?

Bs as they always say : “The grass is always greener on the other side”
